Breakfast and did some admin jobs with flight tickets, money transfers, photos and laundry planning.
Got a Grab to Pantai Kok beach and it was deserted. It was recommended by Danny as he’s been here and stayed in the hotel adjacent to the beach and he was eight that it was lovely. We were pleased we’d come here.
A very idyllic location with very few people anywhere along it. We just relaxed, slept, went in the sea, read, listened to music and wrote the diary. Goodness me, that’s taking up so much of my time, I still have days in KL that I need to write!! Getting there slowly.
We had to move at one point as we noticed the sea was coming in and a good job we did because an hour later we’d have been completely cut off!
It was nice to do nothing for a day and just recharge, we got a cab home, and then straight out for a mile walk to the laundromat. Lovely helpful man there and we turned it around quickly in the hour and even had wifi access so I took the chance to do update 3 on Facebook as we’re moving on from Langkawi tomorrow.
Back to hotel and got things packed with out nice clean clothes and back out to Cenang Road. Found a cheap place for food, Malaysian style beef and rice. Nice and very cheap. Then looked for a bar, everything seemed to be closed. Really odd, and frustrating. Not that we have a drinking problem!!
Found an Italian restaurant about to close and they let us have one beer, left and got a couple of tinnies from 7/11 and went home. Finished packing and sat on balcony having our beers and catching up on social media again. It was half midnight in no time.
We’ve really enjoyed Langkawi and Malaysia in general. We feel we’ve done a lot but don’t feel it’s been too much hard work and have managed to get a decent balance. We’re happy anyway and that’s what’s important. We’re a little anxious that this has been all “too nice” and there’s worse food/challenges to come in Cambodia and Vietnam but it’s what we’ve sign up for so can’t complain. And I am sure we won’t.
So now to Borneo, should be interesting.
