The Big Tour - Day 11 - Tuesday 7th Feb - Langkawi

Packed our bags first thing, then down for another nice breakfast, we had plenty of time so there was no rushing about.

Jumped in the car for the last time and drove 25 mins to the airport and Mr Sunny arrived to pick up the car and we were done.

Our bags were overweight which they did pick up on so we moved things about and it was fine. Sat and relaxed in departure lounge and no more checking bag weight (my hand and cabin bags are definitely over!!)

Boarded the flight and about 20mins are takeoff we landed, I’m not exaggerating it really was the quickest flight I’ve ever been on.

No problems getting bags and with internet I got us a Grab cab and it was there instantly and the hotel was only 5 mins away.

I like the resort, Ombak Villas, but disappointed the pool was closed for 7 weeks repair and you can’t swim in the sea as it’s too muddy. Didn’t know that before booking, might have chosen somewhere else if we did. Could use the pool in next hotel and to be fair it is very nice so after we unpacked we came and relaxed for a couple of hours in the sun. Lovely!!

Got ready to go out and “Grabbed” into Cenang, quite a bustling place, bright lights, restaurants, gift shops and excursion sales points. Not much in the way of bars though which was odd. Alcohol does seem to be a bit of a luxury here in Malaysia. Anyway, wandered about and queried a few of the tour operators but decided on our own thing over next couple of days.

Ate at a street vendors, burger and chips, but very tasty, and then went down to the beach that had fire displays and that. Again, quite busy and entertaining. We found a bar overlooking the beach, the Yellow Bar, and had a couple of drinks before walking back to the Mall to find wifi; which was unsuccessful so back to the bar to order a grab off their wifi!

Looks a decent place Cenang Beach, be nice to back tomorrow evening too.
